Covers onboarding for each new employee, including any initial advice you might need from our HR and legal experts to get your new team member started. We charge this fee as soon as each new employee starts.
Ongoing cost
$165 per employee, per month
Covers support from our team throughout the year, plus 5 hours of external HR/legal support from our experts. Any additional expert hours are charged at cost.

Employment Structure Guidance
While Gift Collective provides administrative and advisory support, we do not legally employ staff for Collectives.
You’ll need to decide on the legal employer. Consider setting up a simple LLC solely for employment purposes to keep administrative requirements minimal. If you prefer a different legal structure, inform Gift Collective accordingly.
For more information on LLC incorporation, refer to the Companies Office guide.
We can assist with the incorporation process if needed.
If you need to hire a contractor, or have a service contract arrangement for your mahi, this can happen without the need to have a legal entity.
We’re here to simplify your employment journey.

FAQs
Got any pātai?
Is the fee still the same if the employee is part time?
Yes it is, as the work we do is the same no matter how many hours your employee works.
Can I give my employee more leave than that listed?
Yes you can offer more, but you can’t offer less.
Do employees give notice to the Gift collective staff, or their Collective?
Employees should first give notice to their Collective, then the Collective admin should get in touch with Gift Collective.
So, I can’t employ someone as a Gift Collective without becoming a limited liability company?
There are other legal entities that you could pursue as an alternative to a limited liability company. You must become some sort of legal entity though to be able to offer employment.
Can I hire someone in another country?
Only as a contractor, not as an employee.
Who is responsible if my company is taken to court?
The legal entity that holds the employment would be responsible.
Can I fire someone without asking Gift Collective?
You need to go through the process as set out in our toolkit to fire someone.
How do I give my employee a raise?
It is up to you to set pay rates and offer any raises. All you need to do is notify us if payroll needs to be updated.
Can The Gift Trust help me hire someone?
We can, in the sense that we provide you with all the tools necessary to go through this process. We won’t actually go through the hiring process with you though.
